Family

I was raised that end of the day it's family over everything even if y'all don't get along. Well that just isnt the case anymore. What hurt me so bad about it is that my family means everything to me, even my extended family, because that's how I was raised. I've caught criminal cases for my family, feed them when they were hungry, and protected them at all costs. Just the other day my electricty was shut off due to non payment. I had the money but since I forgot to pay it I had to pay extra to have it cut back on. I was $14 short. I called my family and they said they would send me the difference. That was 3 days ago and I have yet to recieve it. The even sadder part is that they're not even answering their phone. Luckily for me I actually had the $14 but forgot I had it so I was able to pay the bill without depending on them. This isn't the first time they did this so I'm not too surprised. But at the end of the day they're still family and I will still do everything all over again for them even though I know now they wouldn't recipricate the same loyalty. But like my grandfather always told me, I'm the last of a dying breed.
