Surprised Visit

I got a surprise visit from two of my kids (8 and 12) this weekend. I haven't seen them in person in nearly two years. The reason why I say personally is because I Skype with them frequently. Now here's the problem. Their mother decides to make a surprise visit and bring them from North Carolina to Georgia without giving me a heads up. I'm broke as hell so I didn't have anymoney to take them anywhere or buy them anything to make their trip more memorable. And I know that shouldn't matter if all they wanted to do was see me but I always treat them. Second problem is I had to make sure I had enough food in my house to feed them. Why? Because since I didn't know they was coming I had to find extra money to feed them. Their mother showing her true colors, split before they had a chance to even take their jackets off so I couldn't pull her to the side and discretely ask her for help, which I have to admit, she would have given to me. and to make matters more complicated I had to work so that interferred with us spending time together. But in the end it worked out well. I came home from work that morning and made them breakfast. I was in the middle of making them dinner when they mother showed up to get them and just that fast was right back off. Now, my only question is why? Why would she just show up to do something nice. Why she dropped them, disappeared, and reappeared just like that? I guess I'll never know without asking her directly, which I won't do because then she'll think I care when in reality I'm just being nosey. lol
